Christ the Redeemer Maronite Church

Structural Engineering

Zait is delighted to be chosen by the Maronite community to provide structural engineering design and supervision services to their new spiritual home in Dural, designed by Design Cubicle.

The architectural and spiritual intent of the church is to bring the community together under a solid concrete cross clear spanning across the congregation while allowing slits of light glowing through the centre of the cross. The nave remains column free with clear sightlines to the sanctuary.

The concentrated loads of the roof structure are subsequently brought down through the underlying building and the basement carpark levels. Integrated ramps at the entrance to the vestibule are designed for vehicular traffic to enable ceremonial requirements as designated by the parish.

Zait involvement is to integrate Structural, Design into the church utilizing Revit and BIM 360 to provide clash detections with all building elements in the design phase to provide the most practical, buildable, and optimal solution.

This project is one that brought some unusual structural challenges, to which our Team was dedicated to resolve, to deliver a home to the church and parishioners in Dural.
